Second Saturday of May 2012 Flower Offering: Honoring our Blessed Mother Mary

Bouquet of Roses: Prayer of the Holy Rosary

On May 12, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., the Coordinator of the Intercessory Prayer Group Sister Lenis Cadoy led the offering of a bouquet of roses, as an act of reverence, love and gratitude to our Blessed Mother. The Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary was also said with the Sto. Niño De Paz Greenbelt Chapel community. Through our Blessed Mother Mary’s cooperation with God’s Divine Plan, we were blessed with the “Source of grace to men – Jesus”. Marian songs were sung by the Greenbelt Chapel choir after each mystery, imploring our Blessed Mother, the Morning Star, the Mother of Christ, to intercede for us and to bring us to her Son Jesus as we journey through life and at our final hour.

The Marian Devotion

“Marian devotion has maintained a deep Christian content, intimately intertwined with Christ and the mystery of salvation. Thus, Bishops encourage continuing fostering a fervent and authentic devotion to Mary.” (Msgr. Sabino Vengco’s Itanong kay Monsi, Jr. page 301)

Entrusted to our Blessed Mother Mary, Mediatrix of Grace

Jesus has entrusted us, as adopted children of God to our Blessed Mother Mary.

“The Fathers of the Church readily understood Mary as a “Go-between” we have been blessed with. Just as we approach the Father through the Son, we approach the Son through the Mother. Thus, we say in our prayer to our Blessed Mother, Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you.

Although Christ is the sole Mediator between God and humankind (1 Tim 2:5), since He alone, by his death and resurrection, fully reconciled humanity with God, this does not exclude others’ secondary mediatorship or intercessorship, subordinated to Christ. As a prayer says, after the Mediator, thou art the mediatrix of the whole world.”(Msgr. Sabino Vengco’s Itanong kay Monsi, Jr. page 305).

Our Response as Adopted Children

Thank you, dear God for our Blessed Mother Mary. Happy Mother’s Day to you, our Blessed Mother Mary! Thank you for your untiring intercession, sacrifices, generosity and for the depth of your love. We love you.

More Flowers for our Blessed Mother

The Education Ministry (Formation, Information, and IT Groups), together with the Liturgical Music Group and the Greenbelt Chapel community, offered flowers of various colors to our Blessed Mother. The participants laid their flowers in front of our Blessed Mother’s statue, where Jesus’ Easter image was across to, before and after the Hail Holy Queen prayer.
